I guess I'll start

I think a lot of us like Jun and I'm no exception, lol. I got into Rozen Maiden when I was just entering high school and I could connect a lot with him. I hated school and had few friends. He was a grumpy shut-in child at first but he turned himself around and came out of his shell. He even faces his fear of school head-on and though it wasn't easy, he manages to overcome it. I know he does tend to get shat on, but I really like his character development.

Unwound Jun I could appreciate more as I grew up. He manages to make himself happy without academics and even manages to fix his social life, getting a cute gf in the process.

Hana from Rozen Maiden 0 is my most recent favorite human character. I think I'd always wanted to see Souseiseki (who is my favorite doll) with a female master and it finally happened. For context, I'm a chick and after seeing her with endless male masters (really, she has 5 total male masters across every piece of media) FINALLY seeing a female one made me grow to like her quick, though I mostly like her now for very legitimate reasons. I also like her backstory being that she's a country girl who's new to the city because she wanted to be away from family, which kinda fit my situation at the time. She has a very noticeable arc where she becomes less of a tsun-tsun bitch and becomes more outwardly affectionate, which is cute to see. I just wish the Japanese would draw her more...

I was surprised to hear that that hikikomori was not a common anime theme. RM got some credit by exploring this, though according to an interview with Peach pit that they chose this character simply because it fit the mold of a boy who would choose to play with dolls. Jun feels like a drop in self insert, which can't be the case given Peach Pit are female.

I really like Nori. She's a supportive sister, which is the opposite of mine.

He's not a human, but my favorite non doll is Laplace. They wrote him really well.

As far as I'm aware, Rozen Maiden is one of the earliest series to cover the topic of hikikkomori. As for self insert, I kind of do and don't feel the same way. His personality isn't bland enough to be a proper self insert so I think it's his fairly bland design that really helps people feel this way. Self inserts tend to be either overdesigned (mostly for power fantasy) or bland enough to project yourself on, and I feel Jun could just barely apply to the latter.

Nori is a very underappreciated character. There's a sadness in her having to step in as a parental figure to Jun even though she's not much older than him.

As for Laplace, I do like him as a character too. There's mystery behind his character and it's interesting trying to figure him out.

Kiku, not only is she Sui's master, she's cute, but hard working, and tries her best!

I definitely relate to Jun as well, I discovered rm around the same time, and I think Jun served as a warning, of a possible future. Watching the series, him strive to overcome his struggles instead of simply succumbing to them, motivated me to do the same, I worked hard to overcome many faults and flaws and improved upon myself as a person. While so many places around the internet slid into stagnation and sloth, I found here and began to improve myself. I've always held a special place in my heart to thank Rozen Maiden, and Desuchan, both set me on a better path in life.

ouch, never thought of Nori that way but damn that hit home. Grew up with a sibling with mental disabilities, so I grew up much the same, I had to grow up fast, essentially becoming a third parent in the house to help, I lost much of my social life because of this, I really had very little social life, I gave much of that up to take care of my lil brother, so I kindof have a mix of Jun and Nori in my past. Love my brother of course, but it played a heavy part in how I grew up and developed.

Jun Sakurada waited. The candlelights above him blinked and sparked out of the air. There were rozens in the basement. He didn’t see them, but had expected them now for years. His warnings to Heena Chigo were not listenend to and now it was too late. Far too late for now, anyway.
Jun was a hikikomori for fourteen years. When he was young he watched the doll show and he said to dad “I want to make dolls daddy.”
Dad said “No! You will BE KILL BY ROZENS”
There was a time when he believed him. Then as he got oldered he stopped. But now in the base ment of the N-field he knew there were rozens.
“This is Chigo nano~” the artificial spirit crackered. “You must fight the rozens nano~!”
So Jun gotted his kunkun pulsh and blew up the crystal wall.
“HE GOING TO KILL US DESU~” said the rozens
“I will shoot at him” said the suigintou and she fired the trash garbages. Jun kuknuned at her and tried to blew her up. But then the kashira fell and they were trapped and not able to kill.
“No! I must kill the rozens” he shouted
The spirit said “No, Jum. You are Rozen.”
And then Jun was a dollfaggot.
