Really dudes? You guys are forcing SSL on this site and making us download certificates?

Seriously, do you really think forcing everyone to adopt SSL is actually going to prevent a government organization with advanced snooping technologies like the NSA from collecting/decrypting the data if they really wanted to?

http://www.techspot.com/news/53045-ssl-encrypted-communications-intercepted-and-stored-by-prism.html

You guys are idiots, you know that?

All this shit does is make it a pain in the ass for regular users who're just visiting the site (and make everything slower, too). I downloaded the certificates and forgot to checkmark the first box on the certificate installation prompt (pictured here).

This meant that even with the fucking certs installed, I still couldn't access the site. Redownloading it only results in an error message saying "This certificate is already installed as a certificate authority". It took me forever to figure out how to edit certificates already installed on my browser.

A wild help appears!

Get HTTPS Everywhere and add this custom ruleset:
http://pastebin.com/hg1PyNMb

This should redirect every image request to https before it leaves your browser. It won't stop it from bitching about insecure links, though.

Here is info about adding new rulesets: https://www.eff.org/https-everywhere/rulesets

This should be fixed right now, but continuing from this guy.

  • Save http://desuchan.net/https.xml somewhere
  • open about:support
  • click on the "Open directory" button besides profile directory.
  • find the HTTPSEverywhereUserRules dir
  • move the https.xml into that directory

Is there a filter that wont let people post 8chan?

Since when did we become 4chan?

Why would you care about gamergagchan? Do you like reddit and 9gag also?

If you really think it's all about gamergate you need to lurk more

Most of the other boards don't even like /gamergate/, at all

I've never been to reddit

It's reddit in concept alone.

The sites pretty damn fun, lots of shit happens all the time, and even if you don't like the big boards, there are a lot of smaller quieter comfortable boards, that remind me of desuchan before it became an absolute ghost town (thankfully seems to be picking up speeds)

I also have a board there where I share desu goodness, and even link back to desuchan

So it's reddit?

Reminds me of when 7chan started and everybody forced every thread to say "come to 7chan we're not shit we swear guiz".

Oh cool you made you're own subreddit on gamergagchan?

Cripplecock is an asshole, I've known of / him for nearly three years, he was a useless poster on one site and was a terrible admin on the other causing the shutting down of both sites and he's a whore on IRC (constantly begging people to come to the infinitechan channel and post on his site, which had at most 100 users before gamergag). Furthermore he's a l33tfag, he made a post saying how he misses the days of early 4chan when he browsed when he was fifteen and at most he's twenty now or just shy of it so that means he considers 2011 "old", the longest he's been on that site / known of imageboard culture is 2009.

I love desuchan but sometime I feel like the boards are too slow. I was wondering if you mods have thinking of a way to improve the boards fluidity. I don't want desuchan to be big as 4chan, but I feel like some boards, like /a/, could be more fun if they where faster.

Or do you just don't care about boards fluidity?

If you use desuchan.moe instead of desuchan.net you'll get the anti-hotlinking picture when clicking on a thumbnail.

When I post through the desuchan.moe domain, I get:

Setup issues found:

No write access to DOCUMENT_ROOT+SCRIPT_NAME dir (/home/desuchan/sites/desuchan.net/htdocs/cgi-bin/waka)

I don't think that's supposed to happen.

There's a lot of CP spam ads on the /loli/ board lately. Is this normal?

I found a couple in /nagato/, /tech/, /moonspeak/, and /a/. I hope this gets dealt with, quickly. I've been on this chan for quite a while, I'd rather not see this on here.

>> No.1916   [Delete]   [Edit]

We're doing what we can, as fast as we can. Contrary to popular belief we aren't paid to sit around removing spam.

Spammers however, are paid to do precisely the opposite.

We do remove vast amounts, but a mod won't always be around instantly. Report it, and if there's a massive wave, let us know in IRC.

Do we have multiple mods on each board? If not, could we arrange that or is that to big of a hassle?

>> No.1937   [Delete]   [Edit]

>>1936
we have several global mods, and several mods that only work on select boards. The global mods can ''do things'' on any board.

Desuchan doesn't have any catalogs or search engines, right? If it doesn't that makes going through boards like /tr/ harder.
